Move over, traditional sodas and other sugary beverages…there’s a NEW can in town! SunSip by Health-Ade is here and ready to make a splash. Are you ready to meet your new bubbly bestie? Let’s dive in!

What is SunSip?

SunSip is the newest addition to the soda scene—but unlike sodas that have lined the shelves for years, SunSip is soda with benefits. Think: gut-supporting prebiotics and essential vitamins + minerals!

Here at Health-Ade, we stand for all things gut health and your right to define what health and happiness means to you. For over a decade now, we’ve been on a mission to support you in this journey by brewing delicious and refreshing kombucha with living probiotics and organic acids that support gut health. Our bubbly booch is here to stay, but now with SunSip to keep it company!

SunSip is full of Flavor, Fizz, and Fun-ction. Ready to take a closer look?
First, let’s talk about the function..

1. Gut-healthy prebiotics from agave inulin

Agave is a plant native to Mexico and the southwestern United States. You may know it as a natural sweetener in the form of syrup or nectar, but the soluble fiber found in the root of the plant (inulin) can also be extracted and added to both foods and beverages.

Inulin is a prebiotic fiber, meaning it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in your gut. Think of it as a food source for all the health-promoting bacteria in your gut. They need food to thrive just like you do! If you want to learn more about fiber’s role in your gut, check out this blog post.

In addition to its gut health benefits, research suggests that inulin can help increase the absorption of certain minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are both important for bone health (1).

2. Vitamins C, B6, and B12

Vitamins are essential nutrients that your body needs to function properly. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps protect your cells from free radical damage. It also plays a crucial role in your immune system, helps your body better absorb iron, and aids in the production of collagen for the health of your skin, bones, and cartilage (2). Vitamins B6 and B12 both support your energy levels, nervous system, red blood cell production, and metabolism (3, 4).

All three of these vitamins are water-soluble, meaning they’re not stored in the body for long periods of time and need to be replenished regularly through foods, beverages, or supplements.

SunSip is a good source of all three of these vitamins! So if you’re looking for a fun and refreshing beverage to stock in your fridge alongside food sources of these essential nutrients…we got you!

3. Zinc and Selenium

Just as vitamins are needed for many important bodily functions, so are these two essential minerals. Zinc is necessary for proper immune function, wound healing, and cell growth and division (5). Selenium is important for thyroid function, DNA synthesis, and protecting cells from oxidative damage (6). You can find these minerals through food sources, supplements, and in every can of SunSip!

4. Deliciously sweet and perfectly bubbly

We’ve talked about Function, but we can’t forget about the Flavor, Fizz, and Fun! When you crack open a can of SunSip, you’ll be met with classic, craveable flavors, and the perfect amount of carbonation. From Raspberry Lemonade to Cherry Cola, Strawberry Vanilla, and Root Beer, there’s no lack of variety here!

The sweetness in each can comes from a combination of natural fruit juices, monk fruit, and cane sugar. With no stevia and 5g of total sugar per can (compared to 40g in most traditional sodas), SunSip is a great way to reduce your intake of added sugars while still enjoying a fun, fizzy beverage. Sip, sip, hooray!
