Spring has sprung and summer’s just around the corner - aka peak season for weekend getaways, patio hangs, and soaking up the sun.

We know that it’s easy to let gut-supporting habits take a backseat when you’re busy soaking up all the Vitamin D and time with friends. But we’re here to let you know that it’s totally possible to enjoy all your upcoming adventures while still giving your gut the TLC it deserves.

Here are some easy (and delicious) ways to care for your gut health when you’re on the go this spring and summer!

Sip Smart

As temps climb, it’s more important than ever to stay hydrated. Proper hydration keeps your skin glowing, regulates your body temperature, and supports stable energy levels. Water also keeps your digestive system moving smoothly, which is essential to feeling your best during spring and summer travels. Haven’t yet hopped on the “emotional support water bottle” trend? Now’s the time! Carry a reusable water bottle with you and sip on it throughout the day, especially when you’re flying, exercising, or spending time in the sun.

While plain ‘ole water should always be your #1 beverage for hydration, other fluids can also offer a hydration boost. If you’re looking for a bubbly refresher, be sure to stock up on your favorite Health-Ade Kombucha flavors! All of our fresh and fruity flavors add a fun twist to staying hydrated, and the probiotics found in every bottle can support your gut health.

And here is an extra fun and refreshing suggestion for our fellow Dodgers fans! Planning on heading to the LA Dodgers stadium for a baseball game or other event this season? Follow your gut to concessions to find cans of our best-selling Pink Lady Apple.

Pack Your Prebiotic Power

Don’t forget to pack snacks when you’re heading out for spring and summer outings! They can help you honor your body’s hunger cues, stabilize your energy levels, and fuel a diverse gut microbiome.

Prebiotics are fibers that feed the good bacteria in your gut and you can find them in many easy to pack foods. Think: apples, oats, slightly underripe bananas, and trail mix made with almonds or cashews. If you’re up for prepping an on-the-go breakfast, consider overnight oats or a chia pudding topped with nuts and fruit.

A cooler full of snacks isn’t complete without a fun beverage, so toss in a couple of SunSip soda cans while you’re at it! The 2-3g of prebiotic fiber found in each can be a great addition to any gut-healthy outing! Bonus: our brand-new Grape SunSip flavor just dropped, and it’s bold, fruity, and ready to become your go-to warm weather sip.

Find Fiber on the Menu

Warm weather often means opportunities to try new restaurants, enjoy patio brunches, and grab happy hour with friends. When ordering out, try to make choices that excite your taste buds and align with how you’d like to feel after eating. Your choices by no means need to look “perfect,” but this can be a fun chance to explore fiber-full additions that you wouldn’t normally prepare at home!

Look for menu items that incorporate vegetables, legumes, fruits, and whole grains. All of these are great sources of fiber that will help keep your digestion on track. Spring and summer salads are also a refreshing way to try out some of the season’s most flavorful produce.

Get Ahead of Digestive Drama

Travel and irregular schedules can trigger uncomfortable bloating, constipation, nausea, and other gut troubles. To stay ahead of the curve, be sure to:

  1. Hydrate
  2. Eat balanced meals consistently throughout the day
  3. Incorporate gentle movement like walks after meals to stimulate digestion

Many of these simple practices can help your gut stay calm, cool, and collected…even when your itinerary isn’t. So, here's to smooth travels (get it?), spontaneous plans, and sunshine-filled days—made even better with some bubbly sips!
