Beets are one of my favorite foods.
They are a great source of essential vitamins, minerals and fiber. They aid digestive health by keeping your bowel movements regular.
They are also thought to enhance athletic performance by boosting the amount of oxygen your body uses and by improving the length of time your body takes to exhaust the oxygen supply. Try consuming a beet-infused drink within 2-3 hours of your workout.
Here are some of my go-to beet-flavored foods and drinks:
I alternate between mixing the beets into my salads or grain bowls and taking a shot of the beet brine. Nothing goes to waste!
