Job Description

Health-Ade is looking for a highly responsible person who takes care of general accounting duties including and not limited to the following: Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This position reports directly to the Senior Accountant and will work closely with this position regarding daily and weekly tasks items.

Task Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Accounting Responsibilities

      • Prepare and analyze accounts payable vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approvals.
      • Support Lead Accountant as needed in General Ledger and other month-end closing activities.
      • Follow vendor payment objectives and contract requirements.
      • Maintain complete and organized records
      • Ensure tax related information is properly maintained and reported.
      • Take responsibility for monthly accounts payable reporting – both the quality of accounting information and timely reporting.

Cross-functional Duties

      • As necessary complete timely and accurate reports for other departments.
      • Work with all departments to achieve company goals
      • Identify accounting issues and propose solutions as they arise.

Job Requirements and Key Skills:

    • Highly responsible person who takes personal accountability for all actions and sets high personal standards.
    • Intermediate knowledge and at least 3 years of experience with Quickbooks.  Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.  Preference given to Fishbowl and ERP systems experience, as well as Advanced Quickbooks skills.
    • Willingness and ability to learn new technology associated with the job
    • Strong practical understanding of accounting.
    • Strong attention to details, able to operate independently, work in an efficient manner, and interact with a diverse team effectively and professionally.
    • Able to commute to Torrance, CA. No relocation offered.
    • Preference given to candidates with a Bachelors degree in accounting and previous experience with manufacturing companies, particularly food manufacturing.
    • Able to work beyond normal work hours as needed
